What is fuel conditioning?
Fuel conditioning is an emerging technology based on the discovery that high
powered magnets placed in a particular pattern on fuel feed lines cause the
fuel to burn at a higher temperature and more efficiently. This is reported
by Professor Wakayama in his paper "Magnetic promotion of combustion in
diffusion flames" published in 1996 by Elsevier. He believed that this was
due to paramagnetic oxygen. Others have put forward theories linked to
nanoparticles being influenced (Professor Kendal, Birmingham University).
The jury is still out on what actually is taking place but the results are
beyond doubt. Flame temperature increases for the same amount of fuel, less
fuel is burnt to achieve target temperature.
For commercial applications we recommend a site survey to establish the most
efficient pattern and type of Magnatech unit to use. Most domestic installations can be
carried out simply, quickly and without special tools by the homeowner.

Magnatech Fuel Conditioning units have the following results:
- A rise in flame temperature of 120C+ for the same amount of fuel.
- This means that the heat exchange plate in a boiler reaches target temperature sooner.
- Less fuel is burnt to reach the target temperature.
- The burner’s ‘burning time’ is reduced
- The heat exchange plate is slightly hotter so the circulating water is hotter.
- Returning water can be warmer, needing less heat to achieve target temperature.
- There is much less waste hydrocarbon in emissions. More of the fuel is burnt.
The benefits
- Carbon contribution to the atmosphere is reduced.
- Reduced fuel consumption at least 6% , clients usually report 9-11%
- Money saved.
- Payback is generally within 10 months depending on fuel costs
and usage.
